Day one
Technique first. Chaos later.
Day one began with three focused classic-technique stations: double-poling with Vetle, transitions with Mika and speed work with Jimmy. The group trained hard, asked sharp questions and carried the conversation into lunch and an open afternoon Q&A.
Then the Soldier Hollow Elite Biathlon Team joined us for an unofficial round of speedball—a fast, slightly chaotic mix of football and handball that became far more competitive than planned.
Day two
Skating, a live podcast and the relay finish.
Mika was sidelined by illness on day two, so Jimmy and Vetle took over. The morning focused on skate technique using rollerskis supplied by IDT USA, giving the group time for detailed feedback and plenty of repetition.
After lunch, the camp became a live SKIRIOUS episode. Jimmy, Vetle and the young athletes talked honestly about training and learned from one another. Jimmy closed the conversation with a quiz and prizes from COXA before the group headed outside for a relay-game finale.
What stays with us
The start of something bigger.
Bringing the first SKIRIOUS Camp to the United States was a real challenge. Fifteen athletes, two full days and a lot of moving parts later, we could not be happier with how it turned out. Park City proved the idea: put good people together, train seriously, keep the conversation honest and make room for a little chaos.
Thank you to Soldier Hollow, the Soldier Hollow Elite Biathlon Team, IDT USA, COXA, Vetle and everyone who made the first camp happen.
